YourDay wins technology award at IAAPA

YourDay, Inc. has been awarded the IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Honorable Mention for its innovative YourDay installation at Alton Towers at this year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 in Orlando, Florida.

Al Page, President of YourDay, said: “We’re delighted that our unique application of technology has been recognized by IAAPA, the amusement park industry’s leading association. To be honored as one of only two new technologies at a convention with over 1,000 exhibitors is greatly appreciated.”

The only imaging company to win a new product award, YourDay received the Honorable Mention for its entry as ‘Best New Product and Impact Award: Technology Applied to Amusements’ as assessed by a panel of industry experts. The YourDay technology, which offers guests to Alton Towers the opportunity to star in a personalized DVD movie of their day out at the UK’s favourite theme park is already very popular with consumers.

Andy Davies, Commercial Services Director of Merlin Entertainments Group, owner of Alton Towers said: “We’re delighted to be leading the industry with an innovative new product that gives our guests a personalized DVD souvenir of their day with us. As the first park in the world to deploy YourDay technology, we’re proud that IAAPA has awarded this very successful venture the Honorable Mention. ”

Dominic Berger, CEO of Venue Solutions Holdings Plc, the majority shareholder in YourDay, added: “This award confirms that YourDay is setting new technology standards for the industry. IAAPA has recognized the universal appeal of the YourDay proposition as the natural evolution of photographic souvenirs, across the full breadth of venues. We have already received a great deal of interest in YourDay from theme parks, amusement parks and museums around the world.”
